Scam (SCM) is a decentralized green cryptocurrency based on a proof-of-space-and-time consensus algorithm, without a 95% premine, built by a community of space farmers for everyone.

What is Scam?

Scam is a direct fork of the Chia™ Network codebase built by space farmers as a fully decentralized alternative green cryptocurrency that can be secured alongside Chia™ while consuming negligible additional power.

We aim to be a community-driven fork reflecting the will of our users, while promoting and recognizing excellent contributions to the Chia and Scam user communities. Scam is not affiliated with Chia Network, Inc., but builds on their great open-source work.

What is your technology?

Right now, we do not make any changes to the Chia™ Network consensus protocol [1] [2], and we plan to closely follow the upstream project's release cadence, with a target delay of at most a week following each Chia™ Network release.

Can I farm Scam with my existing Chia™ plots?

Yes, existing Chia™ plots can be used to farm on the Scam Network. For the safety of your valuable private keys, we encourage you to audit the Scam source code (see the diff between Scam 1.0 and upstream Chia 1.1.7) before deciding to run Scam. If you are unable to evaluate the security of our changes, we recommend that you use separate private keys and plots to farm Scam.

What is Scam's emission schedule? Is there a premine?

Scam operates with the same emission schedule as Chia™, where 10 Scam will be minted per block targeting 4,608 blocks per day for the chain's first 3 years, halving every 3 years until reaching 0.125 Scam per block. Scam has a transparent developer premine of 3,000,000 Scam to support development and cloud infrastructure costs, to reward community contributions to Scam and Chia™.

What is the Scam community developer pool?

The project aims to award 100 Scam (SCM) each month as brownie points to developers of excellent contributions to the Chia and Scam ecosystems. This includes great work to plotter performance, dashboarding and monitoring tools, among other possible contributions. This doesn't have strict criteria and will be driven by community demand (join our telegram and Discord!).

What is the value of Scam (SCM)?

Cryptocurrency has no intrinsic value. Its value doesn't come from any person or corporate entity but from broad community support as well as supply and demand. We aim to build a great community by users for users. The value of SCM is currently unknown without an exchange listing, and you should treat it as worthless internet brownie points in the most probable case. Please don't buy new hardware to farm Scam.
